Suitable for absolute beginners and those wishing to refresh the basics.

Come and experience the creative satisfaction and documented health benefits associated with hand knitting and learn a skill that, like riding a bike, will stay with you forever (WARNING: can become addictive!).

During this three hour workshop Nicky will teach you how to cast on, cast off, knit and purl. We will work through a sampler of stitches starting with garter and stocking stitch, and introducing rib and moss stitch if time allows. We will also discuss yarn types, needle sizes and the basics of reading a knitting pattern, all skills that will enable you to continue to develop your skills after the class.

Attendees will need a ball of double knit yarn, lighter colours are easier to work with than darker colours. You will also need a pair of 4mm (old UK size 8) knitting needles. Please bring a pencil/pen for writing notes and scissors for snipping thread.

Maximum number of attendees: 8
