Tunisian Simple Stitch Crochet with Fiona Morris
Sat 14th March @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm| £45
Tunisian crochet has recently started to become a popular form of crochet. It makes a more solid fabric that can look more like knitting than crochet. It is worked using a special crochet hook that looks like a knitting needle with a hook on the end.
A variety of different stitches can be worked using this technique but in this class, you will learn the basic Tunisian Simple Stitch.
Having become familiar with Tunisian Simple Stitch we will move on to working the chevron/ripple stitch and then start making the scarf.
To attend this class you need to be able to work basic crochet stitches i.e. to make a foundation chain and work the double crochet stitch.
You will need:
- A Tunisian crochet hook 4.00mm, 4.5mm or 5.00mm. You generally need a hook size slightly bigger than the size you would normally use for that yarn e.g. if you normally use a 4mm needle you will need a 4.5mm or even a 5mm Tunisian Crochet hook.
- A smooth yarn to work within DK weight (or thicker if you prefer).
To make the Chevron Infinity Scarf you will need:
- An Aran or Chunky weight yarn at least 150m in length
- A size 7mm (Aran) or 8mm (chunky) Tunisian Crochet hook. You can work on a straight hook or use the KnitPro interchangeable Tunisian Crochet hooks.
